Academic dress goes back hundreds of years and because it is so traditional, one of the key points is a very stringent matching of shades to old established standards to ensure that all participants look the same.

This is an area where Turley Textiles Ltd. are very successful by maintaining close working relationships with our fabric dyers. In adition to supplying the cloth, we also supply the gold lace/braid and many of the ornaments used with the garments.

Legal dress is probably older than the academic dress and once again, Turley Textiles Ltd. supply all the basic fabrics used in this area.

As well as supplying the gold lace/braid and the ornaments, we also supply the material for the bags used for carrying documents etc. on court days.
